Fusion Charlottetown Announces Action Teams
July 14th, 2015
CHARLOTTETOWN- Fusion Charlottetown, a not-for-profit, volunteer organization of 20-40-year-olds, has announced their Action Teams, which were derived from the launch event earlier in June. The launch held at the PEI Brewing Company on June 4th had over 300 attend and share their dreams for Charlottetown and Fusion Charlottetown.
“Action Teams are where some of the ideas from our launch and our outreach will be acted on,” stated Darcy Murnaghan, Chair of the Fusion Charlottetown Board. “The model of Fusion is very grassroots and we wanted to hear what our age group wanted to do for the City.”
Action Teams include: Entrepreneurship and Employment, Sustainability, Urban Development, Arts and Culture, and Health and Wellness.
“There were some themes that came through very clear, support for youth entrepreneurs, bike lanes and supporting more arts and culture,” commented Christina MacLeod, Fusion Charlottetown Founder and Board Member.
“It was just awesome to see so many people come to the launch and who have contacted us since the launch who want to get involved and support our work,” stated Heather MacAulay, Fusion Charlottetown Board Member. “We are excited to see people sign up for an Action Team or work on a specific project.”
Fusion Charlottetown is hosting a reception to sign up for the Action Teams and specific projects on July 29th from 5-7pm at Captain Jack’s Bar and Grill at the Charlottetown Yacht Club. For more information visit their Facebook page at FusionCharlottetown or email FusionCharlottetown@gmail.com.
